• How does the analysis work?

- Dip the test strip into the pool or spa.
- Wait 10 seconds and scan the test strip immediately with the app, aligning it in the frame. (To obtain accurate results, it is essential not to scan the test strip in direct sunlight.)
It is important to scan the test strip immediately (risk of an inaccurate analysis).
- Poolyse detects the colors, calculates pH, chlorine, bromine, total alkalinity, stabilizer, and provides the recommended dosages.
- Results appear after a few seconds.

Do I need to enter information about my pool?

Yes, only once:

Types of notifications:
- Seasonal alerts: heatwaves, rain/storms, start of the season, winterizing
- Information & Tips: analysis reminders, safety, tips, maintenance advice
- Weather: automatic alerts (heatwaves, severe weather) or specific conditions
Quiet hours:
- By default: 10 p.m.–8 a.m.
- “Non-urgent” notifications are limited during this period.
Delivery requirements:
- Internet connection required at the time of sending

- Exclude Poolyse from battery optimization

• Where can I access Poolyse subscriptions?

• What advice is there for treating my pool correctly?

- Preferably treat your pool in the evening: after swimming, add your maintenance products and let the filtration pump run to distribute the treatment evenly through the water.- Never mix concentrated products together. This can be dangerous.- Always add the product to the water, and not the other way around, to avoid any unwanted reaction.- Choose quality products: to guarantee safety and effectiveness, it is recommended to buy from a specialist pool professional.- The advice provided in this analysis is based on the experience and expertise of the Poolyse team, to help you keep your water clear and healthy safely.

Why should you monitor the stabilizer level in your pool water?

Stabilizer (cyanuric acid) protects chlorine from the sun's UV rays. An appropriate level therefore helps extend its effectiveness and limit its breakdown by sunlight.However, excess stabilizer reduces chlorine's disinfecting effectiveness and can contribute to cloudy or green water.- Between 20 and 50 mg/L: generally suitable for pools using stabilized chlorine.
- Above 50 mg/L: partial water replacement is necessary.
- Above 60 mg/L: a larger partial water replacement may be necessary.Because stabilizer is difficult to remove with standard treatments, replacing part of the water is generally the most effective solution.For pools treated with bromine or salt, ask your pool professional for advice before adding stabilizer.

Why should you regulate your pool's total alkalinity (TAC)?

TAC (Total Alkalinity) measures the water's alkalinity. It plays an essential role in pH stability thanks to its buffering capacity, which limits sudden pH fluctuations.TAC can change due to several factors, including rainwater, swimming, jets, and waterfalls…A low TAC causes significant pH fluctuations. Conversely, a high TAC can make the pH difficult to adjust.For a standard pool, a range of around 80 to 120 mg/L is often recommended, depending on the treatment used.

Why does pH affect chlorine effectiveness?

pH directly affects the proportion of chlorine present in its most active disinfecting form.As a guide, for unstabilized free chlorine:
- pH 7.0: chlorine works at approximately 75 to 80%.
- pH 8.0: chlorine works at approximately 20 to 25%.These proportions vary, particularly when stabilizer is present.It is generally recommended to keep your pool's pH between 7.0 and 7.4 to support chlorine effectiveness while maintaining swimmers' comfort.

How can you restore crystal-clear water after it turns green?

When a pool turns green due to algae growth, appropriate treatment can help restore clear water.The water generally goes through three stages:
1. Green water: algae are present and growing.
2. Cloudy water: treatment is acting on the algae, but particles remain suspended.
3. Crystal-clear water: filtration and cleaning gradually remove the particles.Under good conditions, this process can take 24 to 48 hours, but it may also take several days depending on the water's initial condition, the treatment, and filtration performance.It is important to check the pH, sanitizer, and filtration, then make sure the water parameters are within the recommended range before swimming again.
